Tom Kha is one of Thailand’s national dishes and comes from the north, bearing the influence of neighboring Loaos. The name translates to boiled galangal soup which is where the soup gets its peppery and floral flavors. The coconut milk creates a creamy contrast to the sour and spicy flavors and makes for a delicious, authentic soup. In Thailand, Tom Kha is usually accompanied with rice and eaten more like a curry but is awesome as a soup as well!

Cooking Steps
-
Prepare the water: Add 1¼ cups of water to a medium-sized pot.
