Panang Curry

Ingredients

Sutharos Organic Panang Curry Meal Kit - Comes with organic panang curry paste, organic coconut milk, organic curry seasoning, organic dried herbs, and organic dried red chili peppers

Coconut oil or vegetable oil

1 lbs of flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain
Panang Curry originated from the island of Penang off the west coast of Malaysia. It has the same bold red color as Red Curry because the main ingredient in both is Thai red chili pepper. But don't be fooled, the color is really all they share. Panang Curry is actually the sweetest, richest, thickest, and mildest of all Thai curries! This dish is also unique because it is traditionally one of the few an all-meat dishes in Thai cuisine. For our simple recipe, we will be using beef since it complements the curry nicely.

Cooking Steps

Prepare the Panang curry: Add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil to a pan and heat over medium heat. Add the organic Panang curry paste and heat until fragrant, 30-45 seconds. Add the coconut milk, ½ cups of water, and the organic curry seasoning. Mix well for 2 minutes.

Cook the Beef: Add the beef and stir for 3-4 minutes or until cooked to desired doneness.*

Serve with jasmine rice or bread.
* Add the organic dried red chilis during step 2 for extra spice. Be careful, these are very spicy!
